I spent more than 20 years practicing as a nephrology nurse, and in management in the highly specialized field of nephrology, caring for patients with kidney disease. Eighteen of those years I practiced as a Certified Nephrology Nurse, with extensive experience reviewing medical records for quality and safe delivery of patient care. I am uniquely qualified for consulting and to screen medical cases quickly and effectively. I assess not only clinical issues but also compliance with regulatory and core measure standards, standards of care, policy and procedure, staffing and scheduling practices, and the inner workings across all healthcare settings.

Failure to act upon the warning signs can lead to a dialysis patient's internal access rupturing. This usually occurs at home and leads to patient death.
Dialysis bloodline separation during treatment is preventable. Unfortunately, if it occurs, the patient will exsanguinate (drain out all their blood) very quickly.
Many kidney disease patients experience low blood pressure and weakness after dialysis and must be carefully monitored to prevent falling as they prepare to leave the facility.
